The Empire State Center for the Book is hosting its first Children’s Book Weekend on May 6th & May 7th at Governors Island. It is a twofold celebration in honor of the close of Children’s Book Week and the opening of the 2017 Summer Season on Governors Island.

Authors and illustrators will read and sign their books at the Empire State Center for the Book’s pop-up site, House 4B in Nolan Park. The site had been the former home of an 1855 field officer.

ALA 2016 Annual Conference & Exhibition #ALAAC16

Print

Every time I go to ALA I feel like a kid in a candy store. Where else in the world can you meet your favorite librarians, educators, editors, and publishers; bump into Dan Santat in the hallway; and hear your child scream with delight, “Mo Willems is HERE! HE’S HERE!!!

Below are a few photographic highlights from this year’s INCREDIBLE conference.

A well-prepared librarian!

As my favorite spider might say, ALA is some conference. I can hardly wait for next year. Thank you, ALA!
