Every time I go to ALA I feel like a kid in a candy store. Where else in the world can you meet your favorite librarians, educators, editors, and publishers; bump into Dan Santat in the hallway; and hear your child scream with delight, “Mo Willems is HERE! HE’S HERE!!!”
Below are a few photographic highlights from this year’s INCREDIBLE conference.
My super excited boys with their super cool exhibitor badges.

A well-prepared librarian!
As my favorite spider might say, ALA is some conference. I can hardly wait for next year. Thank you, ALA!
Looks like you’re having a phenomenal time!! Wish I was there!
Same here! xo
Great photos! It’s inspiring to see all the book love at ALA!
Book love was in the air. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful pictures! What a wonderful, magical place to be.
Cathy, It is a wonderful, magical place. Hope you get a chance to go one of these years. xo
That sounds like an amazing time! 😀 I wish I could’ve gone! 😀
What an amazing opportunity. You hit the jackpot with authors. Glad you could take your sons — so inspiring. I seriously need to attend this event.
Pat, It was a great trip. The “bigger son” is actually my husband. I’m just so used to calling them my boys. In any event, he is now gushing about his youthful appearance and insisting that the key to staying young is not exercising. I hope he can fit his youthful, big head through our front door. 🙂
What fun to meet all these wonderful people!
It was a blast! And it’s so hard to contain my excitement when I see an author that I love. Tina, hope you get to go one of these days. You’ll love ALA.
From everything I’ve seen posted about the ALA, it looks like an incredible time was to be had by all! Sorry you didn’t get to meet my friend Sylvia, though…I told her she’d love you and you two have your law background in common, too. 🙂
Teresa, I tried to meet up with Sylvia, but unfortunately the timing didn’t work out. And I’m hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that we’ll cross paths one of these days too! xo
I really, really hope so! ❤ Right now, I'm leaning heavily towards attending next year's NESCBWI. Will you be there?
Me too! 😍
Woohoo! Maybe finally 2017 will be THE year!! xo
